So, here we are again. It seems like its been a while since i’ve written anything on this blog. I’ve been quite busy since term started on monday again and all the projects were due. so its been a hectic past 2 weeks. i was really excited about the course starting again since the actual course time is rather short. We only have so many lectures before summer kicks in. Its crazy the amount of time we have of vacation for a MA program that’s only a year long. i would have thought it woud be relatively intense, but i havent really gotten that feeling since i’ve been here. i think this term will be more intensive because we have to take 2 additional course electives, which is actually not electives since our department requires us to take the photojournalism ones. The one course elective i really wanted to take was the creative business course. i think that would have been interesting and would have prepared me for reality once i get out of LCC. But, unfortunately, due to lack of interest, it is not being offered. I’m also taking 2 additional ‘bolt-ons’ (electives i get to take but doesnt count towards my assessment). They are experimental web design and web production. i’m trying to get as web/multimedia savvy as i can while i’m on the course. i think the internet offers a lot in terms of distribution and marketing. and we can do it on a grassroots level which would help with costs since there’s definitely a lack of funds for me. So i’m trying to be as busy as i can, watching tutorials from lynda.com when i’m not doing anything, so i can be ahead of the curve. I also have to get going on the term project, which is about the redevelopment scheme going on around the university. so we’ll see how the cards fall as the term progresses.
